Tips: Organize
You can manage and organize the captured items in library efficiently. Sealshot indexes every capture on arrival, so most organizing takes care of itself. These tips cover finding things fast and cleaning up safely.
Search bar
Section titled “Search bar”- Search inside your captures. Search reads the text in the image — an error message, an invoice number, a vendor name — not just filenames.
- Generated Keywords. Captures automatically generate keywords, which can be used later for searching.
- Your tags stay yours. You can add tags to each capture. The tags you add are used for search as well.
Filters and preview
Section titled “Filters and preview”- Space bar for an instant preview. Quick Look any capture without opening the editor; ⌘-scroll resizes the preview.
- Filter by tag, date, or media type. The sidebar filters narrow by tag or by year and month, and the media filter shows images only or videos only.
- Filter bar. The filter bar near center top of library shows the current filters applied. You can remove or clear the filters easily from filter bar.
Collections and favorites
Section titled “Collections and favorites”- Favorites folder. You can add captured items to Favorites folder collections.
- Create collections. You can create your own collections and organize captures based on your preferred folders.
Trash bin
Section titled “Trash bin”- Trash grace period. Trashed captures purge after a number of days you set in Settings → General → Trash (7 by default), or empty it yourself from the Trash header.
- Delete Forever. Delete forever can’t be recovered.
