Sealshot 0.7.0
Released July 9, 2026 · Download
Sealshot 0.7.0 was a direct-download release — signed, notarized, and delivered automatically to existing installs via Sparkle. It’s the biggest release yet: on-device AI, a redaction-engine upgrade, collections, and multi-monitor capture.
Capture & recording
Section titled “Capture & recording”- Multi-monitor capture — with more than one display, fullscreen capture opens a monitor picker over a frozen screen; ⌘-click captures all displays stitched together. Recording gets a per-display picker too.
- Scrolling capture rebuilt — more reliable stitching, and long browser pages no longer need any extra permission.
- Recordings are now video
.sealpackages — same secure container as images, with thumbnails, playback in the editor, and the same automatic metadata. See Screen recording. - A smarter recording HUD that appears on the screen being recorded and can be pinned anywhere.
Editor
Section titled “Editor”- Info panel moved to the right sidebar — click to edit the name, summary, and tags; star a favorite; automatic Smart Keywords appear separately from your own tags.
- Zoom, reworked — ⌘-scroll zooms toward the cursor, a zoom field takes an exact percentage, and a new Hand tool pans.
- Enhance Clarity — tunable on-device upscaling and enhancement.
- Remove Background — on-device cutout with a transparent canvas or a background fill, fully undoable.
- Crop tools — cut or copy a cropped region (leaving a transparent hole), aspect-ratio lock, and a Resize popover for exact dimensions.
- Richer text and styling — a full font picker with rich text styling, smoother pen strokes, and per-object drop shadows with a position pad.
- Live Text upgrades — QR codes and barcodes are detected and clickable (open the URL or copy the payload).
- One undo history — resize, enhance, imports, metadata edits, and Remove Background all join ⌘Z, plus a Revert to Original Image command.
- Drag captures out of the strip or Library into other apps; drop files in to import.
Smart Redaction
Section titled “Smart Redaction”- Enhanced on-device redaction — an optional ~400 MB model (downloaded only with your consent; Apple Silicon) that recognizes sensitive content by meaning, not just patterns, with document-aware detection for financial documents and IDs (passport MRZ, SSNs, addresses, card details). See Smart Redaction.
- Smarter review defaults — high-risk items (cards, keys, IDs, emails, phones, addresses) start checked; lower-confidence finds start unchecked. New Select all / Deselect all controls.
- Thorough scan — an optional Apple Intelligence backstop pass for items the detectors miss (macOS 26 on Apple Silicon).
On-device AI
Section titled “On-device AI”- Extract Structured Data — pull tables, form fields, contacts, and more out of a capture, then copy or export as plain text, Markdown, CSV, TSV, or JSON. See On-device AI.
- Automatic titles, summaries, and Smart Keywords for images and videos, generated on your Mac and editable in the Info panel.
- Smarter search — on Apple Intelligence Macs, search expands your query with related terms.
- Everything is controlled from the new Settings → On-Device AI tab, and it all runs locally.
Library
Section titled “Library”- Collections — organize captures into collections from the sidebar, plus a pinned Favorites collection.
- Quick Look — press Space for a floating, resizable preview; works for videos too.
- List view — a sortable table with app, dimensions, size, date, and favorite columns.
- Filter by tag, by date, or by media type (images / videos), and resize grid tiles and the sidebar to taste.
Sharing & export
Section titled “Sharing & export”- Export to Package — share as
.sealshare(Sealshot) or.zip(any app), optionally encrypted with a generated passcode, with an expiry date, hint, and note. Export a whole collection or your favorites at once. - Export to Video (
.mov/.mp4) including batch export, and batch image export to a folder.
Settings & shortcuts
Section titled “Settings & shortcuts”- New Capture, Recording, and On-Device AI settings tabs, with per-tab Reset and a global Reset All.
- Changed default: scrolling capture is now ⌘⇧W (custom bindings carry over). New defaults: record screen ⌘⇧V, record selection ⌘⇧R, pause recording ⌘⇧P, open Library ⌘⇧B, new from clipboard ⌘⇧Q, lock now ⌘⇧L. The shortcut recorder now rejects combos already assigned to another action. See Keyboard shortcuts.
